Weekly Recap
This week in Pawtucket, we celebrated milestones, progress, and achievements that highlight the strength and growth of our community. The 31st Annual RI Latino Dollars for Scholars event was an inspiring evening, recognizing Latino students for their educational accomplishments. A special congratulations goes to Pawtucket student Emmanuel Madrid, whose hard work and dedication earned him a scholarship.
Excitement continues to grow at the new Baldwin Elementary School site, where construction is steadily progressing. This modern space will soon provide our students with a state-of-the-art environment to learn, grow, and thrive, paving the way for the next generation of leaders.
We also celebrated the grand opening of Plaza Shawarma at 146 Clay Street. Congratulations to Daniel Tavares on this fantastic addition to Pawtucket’s dining scene. Be sure to stop by and support this new local business.
A Social Equity Focus Group was held this week, marking an important step in shaping Rhode Island’s first Social Equity Assistance Program and Fund. The discussions brought together diverse voices to create a program that will make a lasting impact on equity and opportunity in our state.
Finally, the City of Pawtucket is honored to be recognized by The Trust at its 38th Annual Dinner Meeting for 25 years of partnership in risk management. This recognition reflects our long-standing commitment to safety, growth, and collaboration.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this week so memorable. Together, we’re building a brighter future for Pawtucket!
