The Finance Department consists of six divisions under the direction of the Finance Director. The Divisions are Accounting, Purchasing, Tax Assessor, Tax Collector and Disbursements, Personnel and Payroll, and the Data Processing Division.
Mission
To provide accurate and reliable financial reporting to the Mayor and his Administration,
Pawtucket City Council and its Committees, External Auditors, R.I. Department of Municipal Affairs, Bond Creditors, Taxpayers, and Residents, and the General Public.
Director of Finance
The Director of Finance is responsible for: the payment of salaries, fees, and invoices; a collection of revenue and taxes; financial regulations and procedures; providing sound financial advice and information; preparation of annual budgets; review of financial systems and procedures; and ensuring the City of Pawtucket's accounts, funds, and financial affairs comply with statutory requirements and generally accepted accounting principles.
