Weekly Recap
Pawtucket Residents:
- This week, we celebrated a major milestone with the ribbon-cutting of the new Pawtucket–Central Falls Transit Center passenger-amenity building at 300 Pine Street. Made possible through strong collaboration with city, state, and federal partners, the project strengthens regional connections, supports economic growth, and advances equity.
- The City of Pawtucket announced an informal community conversation on flooding scheduled for Wednesday, January 28, from 6:00–7:30 p.m. at the Blackstone Valley Visitor Center. Residents and business owners are encouraged to share where flooding occurs during heavy rain to help the City identify problem areas and guide future stormwater planning. Those unable to attend can still participate by completing a brief online survey.
- The Pawtucket Police Department is once again hosting its Kind Hearts Campaign ahead of Valentine’s Day, inviting residents to make or sign cards for local seniors. Cards will be delivered to the Senior Center and senior housing units throughout the city, where they are always warmly received. Donations are being collected at Police Headquarters through February 11, demonstrating the impact of community kindness.
- Public Meeting Notice: Wednesday, January 28th, 2026, at 5:00PM
- Get Involved offers links to job openings throughout the City and also includes a link to vacancies currently available on our citywide Boards and Commissions.
- Important reminders to help residents stay informed in the new year. Free 2026 City of Pawtucket calendars are now available at several city locations, including City Hall, the Leon Mathieu Senior Center, the Pawtucket Public Library, and the Slater Park Recreation Office, while supplies last. Residents are also encouraged to sign up for CodeRed, the City’s emergency alert system, to receive timely notifications during winter storms or other emergencies.
