Weekly Recap
Pawtucket Residents:
- The City of Pawtucket is launching its year-long wellness initiative, Get Healthy Pawtucket, to support residents in making healthier choices in 2026. The program will offer group exercise classes, nutritional counseling, and a variety of wellness resources, with the support of local partners including State Representative Karen Alzate, Bileau Built, Del Alma Dance Company, Beat Box Studio, RI Taekwondo Center, and The Healthy Spot. Residents are invited to the free kick-off event on Saturday, January 31, from 12:00–2:00 PM at RI Taekwondo (210 West Avenue) to participate in demonstrations, fitness classes, and hear from wellness leaders. The initiative encourages ongoing community participation throughout the year.
- The City of Pawtucket announced an informal community conversation on flooding scheduled for Wednesday, January 28, from 6:00–7:30 p.m. at the Blackstone Valley Visitor Center. Residents and business owners are encouraged to share where flooding occurs during heavy rain to help the City identify problem areas and guide future stormwater planning. Those unable to attend can still participate by completing a brief online survey.
- The Pawtucket Police Department is once again hosting its Kind Hearts Campaign ahead of Valentine’s Day, inviting residents to make or sign cards for local seniors. Cards will be delivered to the Senior Center and senior housing units throughout the city, where they are always warmly received. Donations are being collected at Police Headquarters through February 11, demonstrating the impact of community kindness.
