Weekly Recap
Pawtucket Residents:
- The City of Pawtucket is proud to join the AARP Nationwide Network of Age-Friendly States and Communities. A formal announcement will be held on Tuesday, September 30 at 12:00 PM at the Leon Mathieu Senior Center, with the public invited to attend. This initiative made possible through collaboration with AARP-RI, Age-Friendly RI, the Office of Healthy Aging, LISC, and local partners, will launch a survey following the event to gather feedback from older residents and caregivers (45+) to help shape future efforts.
- Restaurant Week 2025 is coming to Pawtucket from October 20–25! Local restaurants are invited to join this exciting weeklong celebration of food and community—an opportunity to showcase unique flavors, highlight menus, and attract new customers. Signing up is simple: email [email protected] for details and see the flyer below.
- The Pawtucket Commission on Arts & Culture invites the community to a City Gallery Reception on Monday, September 29, from 6:00–7:00 PM at Pawtucket City Hall (137 Roosevelt Avenue). The exhibit, “Let’s Get Down to Business: The Art and Culture of Business,” celebrates locally operated for-profit businesses—Collette Travel, Rosebud Florist, Amy Page DeBlasio (APD), and Mirror Image—that contribute to Pawtucket’s cultural and economic vitality through creativity and community presence.
- Mayor Grebien will announce the winners of Pawtucket’s 27th Annual Photo Contest on Sunday, September 28 at 4:00 PM through a video on the city’s website and social media. This year’s theme, “We Have A Goal,” submitted by Janice Guilbeau of Pawtucket, inspired many creative entries showcasing the city’s life, history, and evolving landscape. Special thanks to our judges—Butch Adams, Christy Christopoulos, Jean Duffy, Peter Goldberg, and Aaron Usher III—and to Pat Zacks for helping keep this cherished tradition alive.
