Weekly Recap
This week Pawtucket showed what it means to celebrate and take care of our community. From Earth Day cleanups to celebrating National Walking Day, our residents stepped up in so many ways. Volunteers of all ages joined forces with organizations like the Boys & Girls Club, The Empowerment Factory and Centreville Bank to help beautify our neighborhoods and care for the places we share. These efforts are a reflection of the pride people have in this city.
We also celebrated meaningful milestones that reflect the values we hold as a community. At the Armenian Flag Raising, we stood in remembrance and unity with our Armenian American neighbors. We marked Arbor Day by honoring our city’s deep commitment to green spaces, with historic photos dating back to 1914 reminding us how long Pawtucket has cherished trees and the environment. Mayor Grebien signed on to the Active People Healthy Nation program, making Pawtucket the first in Rhode Island to officially commit to building walkable and active neighborhoods for everyone.
Momentum continues to grow across the city. Dexter Street Commons is moving forward with 150 new homes designed for connection and sustainability. The city welcomed Elizabeth Crowley to the Planning Commission and celebrated the third annual District Four and Citywide Egg Hunt with families from across town. As we look ahead to RI Soccer Day and the opening of Centreville Bank Stadium, it is clear that Pawtucket is growing with purpose and heart because when we come together great things happen.
