Press Release
To keep our neighborhoods clean and our recycling working properly, all City-issued Trash & Recycling carts must be used with lids in good working order and fully closed. Open or broken lids allow trash to blow into the streets, potentially clogging storm drains, and rain/snow to ruin paper and cardboard and cause recycling rejection due to excessive moisture, and result in additional costs to the city. If your recycling cart lid, wheels, or axles are missing or damaged, free replacement parts are available for City-issued carts at the City of Pawtucket Department of Public Works during normal business hours: Monday thru Friday 7:30 am – 3:30 pm. If you need a replacement, or additional Recycling or Trash Cart, they are also available at the City of Pawtucket Department of Public Works at a cost of: $85.00 Each. Lastly, as a reminder all recyclables or trash must be placed inside the corresponding City-supplied cart; material left outside the cart will not be collected.
If you are unsure of what is acceptable as recyclable, or have any other questions, please contact the Department of Public Works email: [email protected] or call DPW at 401-723-0050 ext. 233
