Weekly Recap

This week in Pawtucket was all about community, connection, and celebrating progress! We proudly hosted the Women in Business event, where inspiring women from our city gathered to share their stories and successes. It was so great to have this panel and activity session for our female entrepreneurs and we are immensely grateful to Washington Trust for sponsoring this special occasion. The dedication of our panel members and the Pawtucket Promotes team truly highlighted the incredible impact that women make in our business community every day. We look forward to building on this momentum and continuing to uplift the women who help shape our city’s economic landscape.

We also had the pleasure of welcoming some exciting new additions to Pawtucket’s business scene! Praise Luxury Barbershop and Our Spot Bar and Grill are officially open, and we couldn’t be happier to see new ventures thriving in our city. Whether you’re looking for a fresh cut or a place to unwind and connect with friends, these new spots are sure to become beloved community staples. We’re proud to support local entrepreneurs and we encourage everyone to stop by and show them some love.

Our commitment to community growth and sustainable development shone through during our transit excursion, where we partnered with the Pawtucket Foundation, RIPTA, RIFC, and Modern Diner to highlight the importance of connectivity and public transportation. Additionally, we celebrated the diversity of our city by raising the Ghanaian flag at City Hall to honor Ghana’s Independence Day—a powerful reminder of the rich cultural tapestry that makes Pawtucket so special. Also at City Hall, we honored the legacy of Jeannine “Cha Cha” Chartier with a special resolution signing and a display of her artwork as part of the Women’s Month Art Exhibit. Finally, we were so happy to took time to support the the recipients of the Youth Sports Revitalization Grant with an info session led by our Chief Equity Officer, Chachi Carvalho. These folks are ensuring that our young athletes have the resources they need to thrive and we couldn’t be more happy to be a part of their programs.
