$1.5 Million in ARPA-Funded Community Impact & Education Grants Awarded to Local Organizations in Pawtucket
PAWTUCKET – The City of Pawtucket is proud to announce the allocation of $1.5 million in Community Impact & Education Grants (CIEG), funded by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), to empower local nonprofit organizations that provide essential services to the community. These grants will support programs addressing critical needs in education, training, employment, safety, and health, particularly targeting the individuals and families most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The American Rescue Plan Act has given us an invaluable opportunity to invest in the well-being and resilience of our community. Through these grants, we’re able to support local nonprofits that are on the frontlines, providing essential services and resources to those who need it most” said Mayor Donald R. Grebien. “This funding will help bridge gaps in education, health, and economic stability that the pandemic has deepened, particularly for our most vulnerable residents. Together, we’re building a stronger, more equitable Pawtucket where everyone has the chance to thrive.”
Twenty diverse organizations have been selected to receive grants. These organizations are dedicated to delivering vital community services and supporting underserved groups in Pawtucket. With this funding, they will be able to expand and enhance their programs, building resilience and equity in the city’s most vulnerable communities.
The following organizations have been awarded funding through the ARPA-supported Community Impact & Education Grant:
The ARPA-funded CIEG grants prioritize projects that provide direct support in sectors significantly impacted by the pandemic, including financial assistance, housing support, food aid, mental health services, violence prevention, employment assistance, and technology access. Additional services include navigating government assistance, securing medical or insurance support, childcare, home repair, and weatherization.
This ARPA-funded initiative enables nonprofits to respond to long-standing challenges that the COVID-19 pandemic has intensified. Grant recipients are required to focus on single, well-defined primary goals, creating impactful programs that provide case management and tailored support services to meet the needs of Pawtucket residents. While all money for this initiative has been allocated, you may contact the City of Pawtucket’s Commerce Department at 401-728-0500 ext. 430. for more information.
